3-Oxetaneethanol

Synthesis

Step D: A mixed system of 3-[2-(benzyloxy)ethyl]oxetane (550 mg, 2.86 mmol), Pd/C catalyst (350 mg), and anhydrous ethanol (5 mL) was subjected to a hydrogen atmosphere and stirred at room temperature for 48 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the catalyst was removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the target product 2-(oxetan-3-yl)ethanol (200 mg, 1.96 mmol, 66% yield) as a colorless oily liquid.
