Chemical Properties
Black powder. Insoluble in water, acetone, ethanol, toluene, xylene, slightly soluble in chloroform, pyridine, soluble in o-chlorophenol. Reddish color in concentrated sulfuric acid, produces olive green precipitate with fluorescence after dilution. Reddish brown in alkaline solution of insurance powder, yellowish brown in acidic solution.
Uses
Vat Black 27 is a black dye.
Preparation
(a) N-(4-chloro-9,10-dioxo-9,10-dihydroanthracen-1-yl)benzamideand N-(4-amino-9,10-dioxo-9,10-dihydroanthracen-1-yl)benzamide in the presence of copper condensation, then use Chlorosulfonic acid cyclization, (b) N-[4-(4-benzoylimino-9,10-dioxo-anthracen-1-ylidene)amino-9,10-dihydroxy-anthracen-1-yl]benzamidein sulfuric acid central change, then the product oxidation.
Synthesis
4,4'-Bisbenzoylamino-1,1'-dianthrimide-
2,2'-carbazole , Indanthren Olive
R, is prepared from 4,4'-bisbenzoylamino-
1,1'-dianthrimide by ring closure in concentrated
sulfuric acid .
Properties and Applications
brown light grey. Black powder. Soluble in 2 – Chlorophenol, slightly soluble in Chloroform and Pyridine , not soluble in Acetone, Etanol, Toluene and Xylene. In concentrated sulfuric acid for red, dilution after flocculent olive green precipitation. Alkaline reduction leuco for red brown; Acid reduction leuco for yellow brown. Mainly used in cotton fiber dyeing, suitable for suspension pad dyeing, also used for cotton yarn of the jig dyeing cotton and the impregnation, rarely used for printing. Can with other VAT dye spell dyed noise. Dyeing silk, affinity and levelness were good, also used for Fiber/cotton blended fabric dyeing.
