SMI-6860766 is a blocker of CD40-Traf6 interactions. It acts by ameliorating the complications of diet induced obesity in mice.
Uses
SMI 6860766, a small molecule inhibitor of CD40-TRAF6 interaction, improves glucose tolerance, reduces immune cell accumulation in adipose tissue, and reduces AT inflammation[1].
in vivo
SMI 6860766 increases the number of adipocytes per field of view by 15.3% in mouse EpAT, indicating that SMI reduces adipocyte size, indicating reduces lipid storage and improves metabolic function[1].
SMI 6860766 reduces the number of total leukocytes (CD45+ cells) in mouse EpAT by 68.5%[1].
SMI 6860766 does not induce differences in hepatosteatosis[1].
