Description
10(E)-Pentadecenoic acid is a 15-carbon, long-chain monounsaturated fatty acid. It inhibits IFN-γ-induced production of kynurenine in THP-1 cells by 14% when used at a concentration of 20 μM. 10(E)-Pentadecenoic acid has been used in studies of alternative β-oxidation pathways.
Uses
(10E)-10-Pentadecenoic Acid, is a monounsaturated fatty acid, and the trans isomer of myristoleic acid. Myristelaidic acid is converted to myristelaidoyl CoA at a faster rate than myristoleic acid to myristoleoyl CoA.
Definition
ChEBI: 10-pentadecenoic acid is a pentadecenoic acid having its double bond in the 10-position.
