N-Oleoyl-L-Serine

N-Oleoyl-L-serine is an endogenous lipid used in the study of bioactive N-acyl amides.

N-acyl amino acids are signaling molecules and N-acyl-serine is an endogenous orphan lipid mediator. N-oleoyl serine mediates energy homeostasis and bone metabolism. It also participates in the mitogenic signaling in osteoblasts and is a novel antiosteoporotic drugs.
