The structure of merenderine has recently been reinvestigated by Russian workers
who have established, from NMR and mass spectroscopy that it has the revised
empirical formula given above and the structure of S-floramultine.
Floramultine ((S)-Floramultine) is a compound isolated from plants with cholinergic activity. It is a moderately potent reversible inhibitor of cholinesterase and has a certain specificity for different cholinesterases.
