Description:Amlodipine Besilate is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. It selectively inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into arterial smooth muscle cells and, to a lesser degree, myocardial cells. This results in the dilation of coronary and systemic arteries, reducing peripheral vascular resistance and consequently lowering blood pressure.
