Cefteram Pivoxil is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It is an oral prodrug that is hydrolyzed in the body to release the active form, Cefteram, which exerts its antimicrobial effects.

Cefteram Pivoxil works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It demonstrates strong activity against pathogens such as *Streptococcus pneumoniae*, *Escherichia coli*, *Klebsiella spp.*, and *Haemophilus influenzae*. Its stability against β-lactamases makes it effective against resistant strains.
