Chemical Properties: Glycosanyl ester is a pale yellow powder; it is hygroscopic. It is readily soluble in water, but insoluble in ethanol and ether. A 6% aqueous solution is a colorless or pale yellow clear solution with a pH of 5-7.5. Glycosanyl ester was initially used as a plasma substitute and later for lowering blood lipids. It can enhance the activity of the fibrinolytic system, prevent fibrin deposition, and has anticoagulant effects; it can effectively increase the activity of Chemicalbook lipoprotein lipase, promoting the release of esterase into the blood, breaking down chylomicrons, and clarifying blood lipids; it lowers the total cholesterol content in serum, relieves the affinity of β-lipoprotein and fibrin for the blood vessel wall; it can antagonize the action of hyaluronidase, reducing the normal metabolism of the blood vessel wall. Glycosanyl ester tablets are enteric-coated sugar-coated tablets; after removing the sugar coating, the tablet core is pale yellow.
