Characteristics
1. Epoxy Silane Oligomer are prepared by the hydrolysis-condensation reaction of 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH-560).
2. It substitute of CoatOSil™ MP200. Compared to monomeric silanes, its oligomeric form results in a more uniform film, longer storage time, and higher stability.
3. It is primarily used in metal surface treatment as an anti-corrosion coating and bonding promoter. It can significantly enhance the corrosion resistance of metals (such as steel, copper, aluminum, etc.), improve coating adhesion, while also possessing hydrophobicity and weather resistance. Its structure contains a high concentration of epoxy groups, which form stable chemical bonds through ring-opening reactions, making it suitable for the durability requirements of rigid composite materials.
Applications
1. Metal surface treatment, such as hot-dip galvanized steel, coil steel, and aluminum alloys, to enhance corrosion resistance and weatherability;
2. Waterborne coatings, including waterborne acrylics and waterborne epoxy primers, to improve adhesion to substrates and compatibility with polymer systems;
3. Baking finishes, to improve coating properties such as water resistance, chemical resistance, and scrub resistance.
