Ethylamines are two carbon amines. Colorless gas with a strong odor similar to ammonia, miscible with almost all solvents, weakly alkaline characteristic of amines. It is widely used in chemical industry and organic synthesis.

It is used in the production of pesticide triazine herbicides, including atrazine and simazine ([122-34-9]). Both herbicides are based on melamine chloride and have similar production processes. Ethylamine is also used in the production of dyes, rubber accelerators, surfactants, antioxidants, ion exchange resins, aircraft fuels, solvents, detergents, lubricants, metallurgical beneficiants, as well as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
