Hesperidin (glycoside) is a flavonoid compound, which contains dihydroflavonoid glycosides, showing weak acidity. The pure product is white needle-like and is the main component of vitamin P.
Hesperidin is hydrogenated into dihydrochalcone, a natural sweetener 1000 times sweeter than sucrose, which can be used as a functional food additive. Hesperidin also has various biological properties.
It has been found to have an antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-mildew, anti-allergic, blood pressure lowering, cholesterol-lowering, cancer inhibiting, osmotic pressure maintaining, and capillary toughness enhancing properties in modern research.
