Octyl alcohol is mainly used in the production of phthalates and aliphatic dibasic acid ester plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl azelate and dioctyl sebacate, respectively used as plastic main plasticizer and cold-resistant auxiliary plasticizer, defoamer, dispersant, concentration agent and petroleum filler, also used in printing and dyeing, paint, film and other aspects.
