Product Core Data
Tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB), CAS 1643-19-2, C16H36BrN, Mw 322.37, is a white to off-white crystalline powder at ambient temperature. The four n-butyl chains and bromide ion confer excellent lipophilicity and phase-transfer ability, making TBAB a widely used phase-transfer catalyst (PTC) and versatile reagent for organic synthesis.
Specifications & Quality Control
We supply ≥99.0 % purity obtained through advanced crystallisation and strict QC. Low moisture and minimal residual solvents are guaranteed; every batch is analysed by GC and shipped with a COA for reliable lab-to-plant performance.
Key Applications
Phase-transfer catalysis: high-efficiency PTC for alkylation, halogenation, cyanation and other two-phase reactions
Pharmaceutical intermediates: catalyst or ion-pair reagent in the synthesis of antibiotics and antitumour agents
Agrochemicals: PTC for manufacture of insecticides and fungicides
Functional materials: precursor for ionic liquids and specialty polyelectrolytes
Organic synthesis: mild, non-metallic catalyst for complex molecule construction
Electrochemistry: supporting electrolyte in organic and aqueous–organic electrosynthesis
Use, Storage & Safety
