Definition:
Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is a naturally occurring bile acid found in small amounts in human bile. It is used primarily as a medication to treat liver-related disorders and is derived from bear bile.

Function:
UDCA works by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver and promoting its excretion. It also helps in protecting liver cells from damage and can improve bile flow, making it useful in treating conditions like primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and gallstones.

Applications:
