The mitogen-activated protein kinase 7 (MAPK7), also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinase 5 (ERK5), is a member of the MAPK family involved in critical cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Unlike other MAPKs, MAPK7 contains a unique C-terminal tail that regulates its activation and nuclear translocation. It is primarily activated by dual phosphorylation of threonine and tyrosine residues in the T-E-Y motif by upstream kinases like MEK5. MAPK7 plays a key role in stress responses, angiogenesis, and developmental pathways, with dysregulation linked to cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders.

MAPK7 antibodies are essential tools for detecting and studying the expression, localization, and activation status of MAPK7 in various biological contexts. These antibodies are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) to investigate MAPK7 signaling dynamics. Phospho-specific MAPK7 antibodies targeting the phosphorylated T-E-Y motif are particularly valuable for assessing its activation state.
