The UNC5CL antibody is a tool used to detect UNC5CL (UNC-5 homolog C-like), a transmembrane protein belonging to the UNC-5 family of netrin receptors. These receptors are involved in regulating cell migration, survival, and apoptosis, primarily through interactions with netrins, a class of guidance molecules. UNC5CL shares structural homology with other UNC-5 family members (UNC5A-D), including immunoglobulin-like domains and a death domain, but exhibits distinct expression patterns and functional roles. It is implicated in both netrin-dependent and -independent signaling pathways, influencing processes like angiogenesis, neurodevelopment, and immune regulation.

Research suggests UNC5CL may act as a dependence receptor, promoting apoptosis in the absence of netrin ligands, a feature linked to tumor suppression. Its expression is often dysregulated in cancers, including colorectal and hepatocellular carcinomas, highlighting its potential role in oncogenesis. The UNC5CL antibody enables the study of its expression, localization, and interactions in various tissues and disease models. It is widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry to explore UNC5CL's biological functions and therapeutic relevance.
