The RHOU antibody is a crucial tool in studying the RHOU protein, a member of the Rho GTPase family involved in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility, and signal transduction. RHOU (Ras homolog family member U), also known as Wrch-1. is an atypical Rho GTPase distinguished by its unique N-terminal extension and distinct regulatory mechanisms. Unlike classical Rho GTPases, RHOU lacks intrinsic GTPase activity and is regulated through transcriptional control and protein stability rather than GTP/GDP cycling. It interacts with downstream effectors like the WAVE2 complex and plays roles in cell migration, adhesion, and polarity, particularly in developmental processes and cancer metastasis.

RHOU antibodies are widely used in biomedical research to detect and quantify RHOU expression in tissues or cultured cells via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. These antibodies help elucidate RHOU's involvement in signaling pathways such as Wnt and its crosstalk with CDC42. another GTPase.
