ERCC6L antibody is a tool used to detect the ERCC6L (Excision Repair Cross-Complementation Group 6-Like) protein, a critical player in DNA repair and genomic stability. ERCC6L, also known as PICH (Plk1-Interacting Checkpoint Helicase), belongs to the SF2 helicase superfamily and is involved in resolving ultrafine DNA bridges during mitosis. It interacts with proteins like ATR kinase and PLK1 to ensure proper chromosome segregation and repair of replication-associated DNA damage. Mutations in the ERCC6L gene are linked to bone marrow failure syndromes and cancer susceptibility, highlighting its role in maintaining hematopoietic stem cell function and preventing malignant transformation.
