FAR2 (Fatty Acyl-CoA Reductase 2) is an enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism, specifically in the biosynthesis of ether lipids and wax esters. It catalyzes the reduction of fatty acyl-CoA to fatty alcohols, a critical step in generating lipid components essential for cellular membrane structure and signaling. FAR2 is primarily expressed in tissues with high lipid metabolism, such as the liver, brain, and skin, and localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum.

Antibodies targeting FAR2 are valuable tools for studying its expression, localization, and function in physiological and pathological contexts.
