Chymotrypsinogen B1 (CTRB1) is a pancreatic protease precursor primarily synthesized in the acinar cells of the pancreas. It is enzymatically inactive until cleaved into its active form, chymotrypsin B, which plays a critical role in digesting dietary proteins in the small intestine. CTRB1 is part of a family of serine proteases, sharing structural homology with other chymotrypsinogens like CTRC and CTRA. Dysregulation of CTRB1 has been implicated in pancreatic disorders, including chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, and diabetes, making it a biomarker of interest in both research and clinical settings.

CTRB1 antibodies are immunological tools designed to detect and quantify CTRB1 protein expression. These antibodies are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) to study CTRB1's tissue distribution, expression levels, and involvement in disease mechanisms.
