ACP3 antibody targets acid phosphatase 3 (ACP3), also known as lysosomal acid phosphatase or tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP). This enzyme, encoded by the *ACP3* gene, is a metalloproteinase involved in hydrolyzing phosphate esters in acidic environments. Primarily expressed in osteoclasts, macrophages, and certain cancer cells, ACP3 plays critical roles in bone resorption, immune regulation, and cellular metabolism. Its tartrate-resistant isoform (TRAP) is a biomarker for osteoclast activity and bone-related disorders like osteoporosis.

In oncology, ACP3/TRAP overexpression is linked to cancer progression, particularly in aggressive prostate, breast, and lung cancers, where it may promote metastasis via extracellular matrix remodeling. ACP3 antibodies are essential tools for detecting enzyme expression in research and diagnostics.
