DNAJA1 antibody is a research tool targeting DNAJA1. a member of the Hsp40 (heat shock protein 40) family. Also known as Hdj2 or HdjA, DNAJA1 functions as a co-chaperone for Hsp70 proteins, assisting in protein folding, stress response, and cellular homeostasis. It contains a conserved J-domain that interacts with Hsp70 and additional domains (G/F and C-terminal regions) involved in substrate binding. DNAJA1 is implicated in various pathologies, including cancer, where it exhibits dual roles—acting as an oncogene in breast and liver cancers by promoting cell proliferation, while showing tumor-suppressive effects in colorectal cancer. It also participates in neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's by modulating protein aggregation.

The antibody enables detection and quantification of DNAJA1 in techniques such as Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry. Its applications extend to studying DNAJA1's interactions with client proteins (e.g., EGFR, PTEN) and regulatory mechanisms under stress conditions. Commercial DNAJA1 antibodies are typically developed in rabbit or mouse hosts, validated for specificity across human and common model organisms.
