HYAL2 antibodies are immunological tools designed to target and detect HYAL2. a member of the hyaluronidase enzyme family. HYAL2 is involved in the degradation of hyaluronic acid (HA), a major component of the extracellular matrix, breaking it into intermediate fragments. This enzyme is expressed in various tissues and is localized to lysosomes or the cell membrane, depending on isoform and cellular context. Its role extends beyond HA catabolism; HYAL2 is implicated in cell signaling, cancer progression, and response to cellular stress, such as DNA damage. Dysregulation of HYAL2 has been observed in certain cancers, linking it to tumor invasiveness and metastasis, making it a potential biomarker or therapeutic target.

HYAL2 antibodies are widely used in research to study the enzyme's expression patterns, subcellular localization, and functional interactions. They are validated for applications like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Some antibodies specifically recognize human HYAL2. while others cross-react with orthologs in model organisms like mice or rats.
