REG4 (Regenerating gene 4) is a secreted protein belonging to the regenerating gene (REG) family, characterized by a conserved C-type lectin domain and cysteine-rich regions. It is primarily expressed in gastrointestinal tissues, particularly in intestinal goblet cells, and plays roles in cell proliferation, anti-apoptosis, and mucosal repair. REG4 has gained attention for its overexpression in various cancers, including colorectal, gastric, and pancreatic cancers, where it is implicated in tumorigenesis, metastasis, and chemoresistance. Its upregulation correlates with poor prognosis, making it a potential diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target.

REG4 antibodies are critical tools for detecting REG4 expression in research and diagnostics. Polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies against REG4 are used in immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blot (WB), and ELISA to study its tissue distribution, cancer-specific expression patterns, and clinical relevance. These antibodies help elucidate REG4's interaction with signaling pathways (e.g., EGFR, Notch) and its role in cancer stem cell maintenance.
