SPRY3 (Sprouty RTK Signaling Antagonist 3) is a member of the Sprouty protein family, known for regulating receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) signaling pathways, particularly the MAPK/ERK cascade, which influences cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The SPRY3 gene, located on chromosome 17q21.2. encodes a cytoplasmic protein that modulates growth factor signaling by interacting with key pathway components. Research highlights its dual role in cancer: it may act as a tumor suppressor in certain contexts (e.g., colorectal and prostate cancers) through epigenetic silencing or downregulation, while exhibiting oncogenic properties in others (e.g., gliomas). Beyond oncology, SPRY3 is implicated in neurodevelopment, with links to autism spectrum disorders, and organogenesis, particularly in kidney and lung formation.

SPRY3 antibodies are essential tools for detecting and quantifying SPRY3 protein expression in research. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence to study tissue-specific localization, signaling interactions, and disease mechanisms.
