**Background of TMPRSS5 Antibody**

TMPRSS5 (Transmembrane Serine Protease 5), also known as spinesin, is a member of the type II transmembrane serine protease (TTSP) family. These proteases are characterized by a transmembrane domain, a stem region, and a C-terminal catalytic serine protease domain. TMPRSS5 is primarily expressed in the central nervous system, though studies suggest its presence in other tissues, including the prostate and certain cancers. Its physiological roles remain under investigation, but TTSPs are broadly implicated in extracellular matrix remodeling, cell signaling, and tissue homeostasis.

TMPRSS5 antibodies are immunological tools developed to detect and study the expression, localization, and function of the TMPRSS5 protein. These antibodies are critical in research applications such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blotting, and immunofluorescence, enabling insights into TMPRSS5's involvement in diseases.
