TWIST2 antibody is a crucial tool in studying the TWIST2 protein, a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor family. TWIST2. also known as Dermo1. shares structural homology with TWIST1 and plays pivotal roles in embryonic development, particularly in mesenchymal cell differentiation, craniofacial morphogenesis, and limb formation. It regulates gene expression by binding to E-box DNA motifs, often interacting with other transcription factors to modulate tissue-specific programs.

In research, TWIST2 antibodies are widely used to detect and quantify TWIST2 expression in various biological samples, enabling investigations into its functional roles. Dysregulation of TWIST2 has been implicated in pathological conditions, including fibrosis, cancer, and genetic disorders like Setleis syndrome. For example, TWIST2 overexpression is linked to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer, promoting metastasis and chemoresistance. Conversely, its downregulation may contribute to impaired tissue repair.
