The EIF2C3 antibody targets the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C3 (EIF2C3), also known as Argonaute 3 (AGO3), a member of the Argonaute protein family. These proteins play critical roles in RNA-mediated gene silencing pathways, including microRNA (miRNA) and small interfering RNA (siRNA) mechanisms. AGO3 is a key component of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which binds small non-coding RNAs to regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally by mRNA degradation or translational repression.
