Yes! Dodecane is a major component in kerosene and some jet fuels, and the study of its pyrolysis has been used as a model for understanding jet fuel pyrolysis. The photoinduced chlorination of dodecane adsorbed on pentasil zeolites has been found to proceed, under a variety of conditions, with a high selectivity to produce 1-chlorododecane. Data from read-across analog nonane show that dodecane is not expected to be genotoxic. Dodecane is not expected to be phototoxic/photoallergenic.
