How does vinyl acetate smell like?

Vinyl acetate is a colorless volatile liquid with a sweet, fruity odor that can be ether-like or sharp and sour. By using vinyl acetate in polymerization processes, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, and vinyl chloride–vinyl acetate copolymers are produced. These polymers are used to prepare adhesives, paints, paper coatings, and textile finishes. Low molecular weight polyvinyl acetate is used as a chewing gum base. Vinyl acetate is used in films and lacquers, as well as in plastic film for food packaging.
