How safe is calcium fluoride?

Calcium fluoride (CaF₂) is an inorganic compound that occurs naturally as the mineral fluorite. At room temperature, it appears as a white crystalline solid or powder; it is nearly insoluble in water, possesses relatively stable chemical properties, and does not readily decompose under standard conditions.
