Yes. Allyl heptanoate is a safe, colorless to pale yellow liquid with a sweet, fruity, banana-like aroma. It is a natural compound found in mushrooms and is generally considered safe for both humans and the environment. Allyl heptanoate has been reported to be free of mutagenicity, repeated-dose toxicity, reproductive toxicity, local respiratory toxicity, photosensitivity/photosensitization, skin sensitization, and environmental safety. Data show that the exposure safety factor (MOE) calculated in repeated-dose toxicity and reproductive toxicity endpoint assessments is greater than 100, and the exposure level is below the toxicological concern threshold (TTC, 0.47 mg/day). According to the International Flavor Association (IFRA) environmental standards, its risk quotient (based on current usage in Europe and America, i.e., predicted environmental concentration/predicted no-effect concentration [PEC/PNEC]) is less than 1.
