Yes. In November 2010, tesamorelin was approved by the FDA for the reduction of excessive abdominal fat in patients with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of the human growth hormone-releasing hormone (also known as growth hormone-releasing factor), which stimulates the synthesis and release of endogenous growth hormone.
