Dimethyl sulfone(MSM) is an organic sulfur compound. It derives from dietary sources, from intestinal bacterial metabolism and from human endogenous methanethiol metabolism. It is used as an industrial solvent: used as high temperature solvent of inorganic and organic materials, organic synthesis raw materials, food additives and health care raw materials, can also be used as gas chromatography fixed liquid and analytical reagents.No studies have been done on the use of dimethyl sulfone (MSM) orally in nursing mothers, but its topical use and low toxicity indicate that it is unlikely to harm the breastfed infant.
