What are the characteristics of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (MKP) as a buffer solution?
Apr 7,2026
Potassium Phosphate Monobasic(MKP) was nominated for treatment of hypophosphatemia, as a nutritional supplement, and for urinary acidification via intravenous (IV). It is also used to prepare buffer solutions. when it dissolved in a liquid will produce an acidic solution. As a result, potassium phosphate monobasic can be used as a urinary acidifier. Potassium phosphate dibasic has the molecular structure K2HPO4 and when dissolved in a liquid will produce a basic solution. The use of potassium phosphate monobasic and dibasic will produce a buffer solution with a pH between 6.3-7.3.
